Share file with PowerPoint Live / MS Teams
I read an article about PowerPoint Live in MS Teams, Share slides in Microsoft Teams meetings with PowerPoint Live – Microsoft Support.
You worthe that “If you’re presenting in a private meeting, the file is uploaded to your OneDrive, where only the meeting participants will be able to access it.” From what I’ve seen, files are saved in One Drive: My Files, files shared in MS Teams. Unfortunately, a presentation with notes is available so every participant of the meeting can download it. What is the solution to such a situation? If I delete this file from this folder, will it automatically be removed from the folders of the people who were in the meeting?
Hi Ahmed, thanks for reaching out.
When using PowerPoint Live in Microsoft Teams to present a file, it is temporarily uploaded to your OneDrive but not shared with the meeting participants’ OneDrive folders. This is the default behavior of PowerPoint Live.
The file remains accessible only to you in your OneDrive, ensuring privacy and control of your content. Meeting participants can view the slides during the presentation but do not receive a copy in their OneDrive folders. However, if you choose to share the file in the Teams chat or channel, participants can then access and download it from their own OneDrive, depending on the sharing permissions you set.
In summary, PowerPoint files are not automatically sent or shared with meeting participants’ OneDrive folders when using PowerPoint Live in Microsoft Teams.
