modern application via web browser not app
I do not use an app for accessing my Outlook email.
I always sign into
https://outlook.live.com/mail/
via my browser, which is Mozilla Firefox. (I do not use Thunderbird email app.)
I don’t download my emails. I only work with them on line.
Does this new method require me to do anything?

You should be fine. Do make sure you have multi-factor authentication provisioned, or a passkey added, it will greatly increase the security of your account.
