Having Trouble Installing OneDrive on Microsoft Surface Pro 9 with Microsoft SQ3 Processor
I have a Microsoft Surface Pro 9 with Microsoft SQ3 Processor with Windows 11 Pro (all Microsoft!). I wanted to install OneDrive in “Alluser” mode. I uninstalled the “Per User” Onedrive.
I downloaded OneDrive here:
I downloaded the version for ARM 64.
Then I ran the installer with the switch /allusers per this Microsoft document:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/per-machine-installation
This is where the problems begin.
“Unable to install 64-bit Onedrive. You can only install 32-bit OneDrive on ARM based devices. Do you want to download the correxct version of OneDrive for your device? I clicked “Yes”.
The dialog disappears, and nothing happens.
NEXT ATTEMPT
I downloaded the 32-bit version from the website above. File downloaded appears to be identical (same size to the byte). I ran it anyway. Same error message!
NEXT ATTEMPT
I tried to install it without any switch. Same error message.
Out of ideas. How do I install OneDrive on this Microsoft Surface?
By the way, I had zero problems running this installer on Intel processor based computers.
Hi Ahmed, thanks for reaching out.
It was getting blocked, because there were some x86 elements in Office that blocked the x64 version of OneDrive. In fact, I couldn’t get any version of OneDrive to work.
I uninstalled Microsoft Office 365 Apps for Enterprise. I made sure everything was uninstalled by looking in Add/Remote Programs. Then I downloaded a new x64 version of Microsoft Office 365 Apps for Enterprise. That installed OneDrive with the package. OneDrive worked after that.
